How to Clean out Candle Jars

by: Corina

At Crackling Wick Candles we use five different style jars to house our uniquely scented soy candles! our primitive jar and mason jars are also popular farmhouse decor and craft pieces! wouldn't it be nice to re-purpose your old Crackling Wick Candle into something new and crafty?

One of the questions we want to answer today is: How do you clean out the leftover wax from the jar?

We've done this many times and wanted to share with you what we found the best and easiest way to do just that!

-Here's what we do:

STEP 1

Use a table knife and gently brake up the wax on the bottom of jar until it is completely loose and can easily be dumped out!

STEP 2

Fill your candle jar with hot tap water (as hot as you can) then let it soak for a few minutes...

STEP 3

After a couple minutes, you can start cleaning out your jar! Thanks to the hot water the remaining wax should be soft enough to clean it all out! dump out the water, you can then use a paper towel and scrub the inside of the jar. Not only will this help remove the remaining wax, but will also clean away soot and stains on the glass from the candle itself! finish of this step by completly drying the inside of the jar!

STEP 4

To remove any labels that may not come off completely when you try peeling it off, run it under as hot was as you can stand and then use a table knife to peel the remaining glue/label off!

And there you have it in four easy steps: how to clean wax from your candle jars!

The possibilities are ENDLESS when it comes to re-purposing your Crackling Wick Candle into something amazing! There is always the option of returning your jar and having us refill with your favorite fragrance for a reasonable price! just contact us.
